Why Am I (Still) A Republican?
I’ve been wondering that about myself, recently. Not so much whether I am a Republican. I switched parties a while back to have some choice in local elections. However, I grew up Republican, and I’m amazed at the capacity of this administration to make that seem puzzling and embarrassing at the same time.

I’ve always thought that this group isn’t republican at all. It is some sort of wierd corporate/religious progressivism.

Really, I’m not sure that you were ever a Republican. I mean, you are not really all that pro-business, you don’t believe in laissez-faire economics, and really, when you get down to it, you have centrist ideas about most social issues. Then you met me and I corrupted you further. Just face it — we don’t think like the vast majority out there do — the Republican and Democratic parties do not meet our needs — because they are, in the end, both about business over people and have a messed up idea about what rights and responsibilities are. Okay, end of rant.
