You share much the same thoughts that I had when I heard this, but you show more patience and eloquence about it than I could have mustered this past week :-) Christianity is supposed to be a faith whose strength is displayed in how we are humble, not how we are boastful. When the name of Christ is turned into a temporal weapon, then it loses every bit of holy purpose. I haven't heard about Flip Benham in a long time. He's always been a pretty... odd... person.
