Hmmm, what does one do when they don’t keep up one blog? Start another one! đŸ™‚
Actually, I ran across the concept of the tumblelog, and I thought it sounded like a good place for the interesting things I pass up because I don’t really think about them as a blog post. So, I’ve started one at phantom-thought.com, hosted by Tumblr. Let’s see how it goes.
The name for the tumblelog comes from a Thomas Hardy poem I ran across one day.
And thus reflecting, you will never see
That your thin thought, in two small words conveyed,
Was no such fleeting phantom-thought to me,
But the Whole Life wherein my part was played;
And you amid its fitful masquerade
A Thought–as I in your life seem to be!
By its nature, a tumblelog lends itself to ephemeral thoughts, so the name seems fitting. The link name from the nav here — marginalia — is also appropriate.
Is this something like Twitter? I just embedded that into my blog a week or so ago. In a world where “bigger is better” and people actually buy Enzyte, it’s nice to see a kind eye turned toward the smaller things đŸ™‚
Yep, kind of like that. Twitter emulates the personal aspect of blogging, while tumblelogs handle the linking aspect.
